Car Benefit Solutions Appoints Not One, But Two Heads to the Management Board to Lead Sales
Annette Whitworth and Andrew Sweeney have been promoted to Head of Regional Accounts and Head of Key Accounts, respectively, at...Tags: Automotive CBS News
Having both been with CBS for over six years, they offer a combination of sector and solution knowledge, a strong cultural fit, a shared drive for individual and team development, as well as a passion for business growth.
Annette was formerly Operations Manager – Regional Accounts & Business Development and Andrew was Operations Manager – Key Accounts, but with these recent promotions, both now sit on the CBS management board, which is responsible for the day-to-day running of the company. Combined they have over 40 years of experience in the automotive industry, and having worked in dealerships previously in their careers, they are ideally placed to represent the dealer customers.
Annette’s automotive career started earlier than most, aged just 15, she did work experience at a local Ford dealership. She pursued the career path and a few years later secured her first automotive sales job as role as a Trainee Sales Executive at a Fiat franchise, with a guacamole green Panda being her first demonstrator.
Of the new appointment Annette said: “The new role requires more of a strategic, holistic and longer-term approach, looking forward to the next 3-5 years to continually seek improvements across the wider business, by adapting, evolving and broadening the scope of our solutions. This will ensure we continue to support and really add value to our customers, whilst aiding us in achieving our company vision and long-term goals.”
A Ford dealership was also the starting point in the automotive world for Andrew, which was spurred on by his enthusiasm for classic car restoration. His career transitioned into the finance and insurance arena, so when a position at CBS became available, the two aligned. Moving to CBS was the ideal opportunity as the innovative solutions and close dealer and manufacturer partnerships matched closely with Andrew’s long-term career goals.
He said: “I’m most looking forward to thinking outside of the box in my new role. Finding new ways of solving our customer problems and overcoming perceived barriers, along with the opportunity to work closely with the other department heads at CBS to continuously improve and work even more collaboratively. Successful execution in my new position meets the objectives and goals for CBS to work towards achieving our company vision.”
As we continue to navigate the current issues within the automotive world, both Annette and Andrew have ideas and strategies to address the challenges ahead.
Annette said: “The continuing stock challenges are the biggest issue our customers face right now. Whilst CBS can’t help by producing semi-conductors or cars, in staying close, listening and consulting with the dealer network, we can react quickly and be flexible with bespoke solutions to meet dealer issues.”
Andrew said: “We anticipate that with the move towards an agency retail model for some manufacturers, we will see a shift in dealer group operations, employee role profile and subsequently the approach toward traditional company car entitlement and provision. We look forward to supporting groups morph towards a broader and more harmonised benefit provision for all employee communities. The deployment of our ever-widening spectrum of technical solutions will ensure that each and every solution is tailored to meet the needs of our dealer group customers.”
Both Annette and Andrew will continue to report into Managing Director, Paul Taylor, who is delighted and excited about the recent promotions. Paul concluded: “The CBS management board looks forward to seeing them embed into their new roles with the drive and commitment they have consistently demonstrated during their time with CBS to date.”
