Car Benefit Solutions (CBS) has been announced as a main sponsor of a Ladies’ Business Breakfast organised by Cancer Focus Northern Ireland to mark breast cancer awareness month in October.

Former Dragons’ Den star, entrepreneur Jenny Campbell will headline the event which is hosted by presenter Sarah Travers. The breakfast is one of a number of high-profile events the charity is involved in during 2019 to mark its 50th birthday.

The prestigious networking event will be held at the Merchant Hotel on Wednesday October 23 from 8.30am to 10.30am. Proceeds will go towards funding pioneering breast cancer research at Queen’s University Belfast.

Rosie Forsythe, Cancer Focus NI’s corporate fundraising manager, said: “We are delighted that CBS has come on board to support this important event which aims to raise funds for breast cancer research and also to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of the disease.

“One in ten women in Northern Ireland will get breast cancer, which is a very stark statistic. That means our mums, sisters, daughters, and wives. It is so important that women know how to check themselves properly and know what to look out for. We are very grateful to CBS for helping us bring vital health messages to women in our business community.”

Martin Maguire, Group Managing Directors from CBS, the United Kingdom’s leading provider of employee car ownership schemes, said: “We are very pleased to be involved with Cancer Focus NI which carries out a lot of very valuable work across Northern Ireland supporting cancer patients and their families all over Northern Ireland, as well as funding pioneering research. Cancer touches so many families and we feel it is important for us, and a key part of the culture of everyone at CBS, to play a role in supporting cancer charities across the UK carrying out this very important work.”

Guest speaker Jenny Campbell will discuss the factors that spurred her on to reach the pinnacle of success in her career as well as recalling interesting stories from her time on BBC’s Dragons’ Den.

As the mother of two now grown up sons, she will also give advice on how to juggle work with the demands of family life. A smaller VIP group will have the opportunity to talk with Jenny after the breakfast.

The business breakfast costs:

  • £40 Women in Business members
  • £45 Non WIB members
  • £60 VIP roundtable discussion with Jenny Campbell
